I've been struggling with mp3.com for the past couple of days, ever since I signed up as a premium artist and uploaded One Wild Night for their approval. Upon visiting my site yesterday, I found that the song was listed on the main page, and you could listen to a lo-fi and hi-fi version, but could not download it. Since I had set it to be downloadable, this was my first clue that something was wrong. I selected the hi-fi version, only to end up listening to some other band called Modus Novus Musik, who apparently do covers of John Williams music. Fabulous. So, I wrote to customer support at mp3.com, saying basically, "what the fuck?", and they replied hours later, "yeah yeah yeah..." and pointed me to a link of their system status that said "?10?We are aware of isolated song errors on Artist Pages where the song listed does not play the correct song when streamed. This issue should be resolved shortly. < br > < br > Thanks for your patience! ?11?0306101552" Yeah, thanks.
This morning, I checked my artist page, and the image for the song was up, which is a big step, and the song was downloadable, which is another big step. I clicked the link, and got to listen to the song, which is a huge step... the only thing is, my song has apparently been renamed "Lost-Live at Northern Lights". As fascinating as the new name for my song is, I disapprove of it being changed without my permission. When you listen to the song on winamp or whatever player you use, it does give the right title... it's just listed on my artist page wrong. How could they screw this up? My name isn't Lost, and it's not like they couldn't check and go, "oh." The name is right there in big letters... WEDGED. Are these people incompetant, or just rushed?
I'm afraid to write them back for fear of getting another link to another junked message.
"You've put the wrong song name up on my artist page."
"Name."
"My name?"
"No, my name!"
"I do not know your name!"
"You play games with me, mister, and you're through!"
"I am? Can I go now?"
...and if you get that reference, you might be a big geek.

"What do you think?"
"He's a Ruski."
"That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, of course he's a Ruski! But is he a retard or something?"
